I have now been working more than 3 years in the lovely city of Brussels and I have the last 18 months had the fortune of living here full time. One of the first things I have become to understand is why expats don't want to leave again. When I arrived I had a goal of walking the streets of Brussels and driving the roads of Belgium. One of my goals here is to visit all large cities in Belgium and afterwards know a lot about Belgium.
Restaurant D’Hoogh
This is a beautiful classic restaurant in the centre of Mechelen, with a one star Michelin rating and it is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Mechelen and I must say that it has a very high standard.
The whole house is classy; there are lavish furniture everywhere, the tables are beautifully decorated in and classic old fashion way.

The menu’s are in a range from 70€ to 100€ and they are very recommendable. I had the good fortune of a 100€ Gastronomic Menu with wines that would match the menu. Everything was exquisite and I still wish I could taste the meal. The 5 courses were brilliant though, just like the Champagne we had as aperitif. As a finale we had a glass of port which was from 1867 and it just made me think how the world looked when it was make – it was truly amazing too.

Overall I must say that it is quite expensive
