½ Marathon in Brussels

Brussels is a city with extraordinarily many activities; there is almost not an evening without some kind of activity somewhere in the city centre. This Sunday the main event was the ½ marathon in the city centre; I had no ambition about participating but the route was passing my apartment so I could hardly avoid being a part of the circus that surrounded this event.

I had been driving to Dinant with my friend in order to give him a possibility to see a bit more than the capital here in Brussels. After the road trip to the countryside I drove him to the airport in order to get him home to Denmark. On my way back from the airport I suddenly remembered that the marathon was on. As I entered Avenue Louise I saw hordes of people running towards me and I was seriously nervous about the time it would cross the street. But here is it that the constant planning and executions of activities comes the local police at hand; they are extremely good to arrange traffic and secure at traffic will be fluent. I had no problems in passing the road and could enjoy the last runners from my balcony.

Is that also valid for Brussels? Ha ha ha
I just remember the first time I was in Brussels, it was in January and was there for a day from Paris. After one hour upon my arrival maybe, it started to rain, and it didn't stop until I left. It was quite a shock for me

I would not have any problem living in Brussels too. I quite like its international flair, being the "capital" of the EU. I though have some problems with the rain
