Le Chatelain

Ixelles Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I have now been working for more than 2 years in this lovely city of Brussels. The last 9 month I had the fortune of living here full time. I have become to understand why expats dont wanna leave again. One of my goals here is to visit all large cities in Belgium and afterwards know a lot about Belgium. Living in the heart of Europe also gives me the possibility to visit many of the larger cities in the middle of Europe by car or by plane. The years I am here I will try to see a lot.
Le Chatelain
One of my favourite bars in my home area is the bar Le Chatelain situated at Place Chatelain. The bar or bistro is an enormously cosy place. It is usually the place I take the last beer or drink before I got home after a good evening in the neighbourhood. The service is always very friendly and with a large laugh or smile ready for you.

That the bar is situated in the middle of the square is just an additional bonus, especially on the Wednesday evenings when the Market at Place Chatelain is finished. Then the bar is totally crowded with happy people who have enjoyed a glass of wine or more on some of the many wine or oyster stands on the Market. These are the evenings where you hardly can get in – these evening they also serve outside. The music is load and often playing music from the 90thies make some dance in the middle of it all as well.
