The Michael Collins Bar
If you are looking for an Irish pub where the atmosphere is great and you can mingle with open hearted people I recommend that you visit the Michael Collins Bar in Rue Du Bailli. It is a traditional Irish pub with what is required; loads of different whiskeys and British and Irish beers, not that many Belgian beers – but if you want that you can go another place.
Usually there is live music on Fridays and Saturday and I have had some of my greatest laughs there. One time the musician got so drunk while playing that he performed a show that I never had seen before – It was like seeing an old Dave Allan show; he stopped in the middle of the song to take shot, he made one verse – and the told that he actually didn’t like the song and stopped, he introduced a song by saying: this is the fucking best love song in the world while fumbling over the word – and he stopped it after 2 minutes stating that it reminded him too much of girl he hated!, It was just a fantastic show and he went on like this for at least one hour.
The bar has also a very nice garden or terrace that you can sit outside on in the summer and the Indian nights.
