Gent on a sunny Saturday
I keep coming back to Gent, I must say that so far it is one of the most wonderful cities in this country of so many of them. No other cities in Belgium has so many UNESCO monoments as Gent, actually they are everywhere. Walking around in this city is like like traveling through history, I could easily imagine how this would look like without the cars in the streets and people wakling around with their apples in a leash. Gent has also a mordern side, with a lot of industri and a very lively shopping area - the city is totally crowded on a Saturday with a mixed of tourists and shoppers. The city does absolutely not live in the past, but very much in the present, I have never seen so many GSM shops. The fine combination between past and present is the platform for at very pleasant and cosy city, which is enormously proud of it’s herritage.
This Saturday I was looking out the window and the sun was greeting me. I just had to go out, my son was agreeing and on his demand he would like to see something else than Brussels. This suited me fine since I the last many weeks had been walking the streets of Brussels and it was time for a change. Sun in ones face could only mean that Gent would be really beautiful, last time we were there it was a bit cold - and it was not a day for sitting outside infront of a cáfé.
