Two of my friends were down from Denmark which always nice because it gives me a reason for rediscovering the city. Being a host in your new country tends also to be hard due the fact that friends that comes by always are on vacation and expect to party and have action most of the day. I love this too but the Monday mornings often comes too fast and I end up lacking a weekend.
My friends Jacob and Michael both loves the city and they have their areas and places that we have to visit otherwise there is almost panic. We always have to visit the Marollen and Jeux de Balle. It is always a must to visit café La Brocante at noon and listen to the jazz and enjoy a toast and a couple of cold beers. The atmosphere in this place is fantastic and it is also one of my favourite places in the city. It is usually not a place that girls like a lot due to the smoke – and it is true that you smell like you have been out all night after even a short visit to the café.
On summer days you can stay outside which is just as nice especially if you like oysters. They serve oysters outside and together with a cold glass of champagne it is heaven on earth.
The second stage of the roadtrip is to visit La Mort Subite which is 3o minutes walk from Jeax de Balle. La mort Subite is my absolute favourite place in Brussels. You cannot do anything than enjoy the ambiance there. The worst thing about this place is that time travels to fast here because hours becomes minutes there.
