Café Belga

Ixelles Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I have now been working for more than 2 years in this lovely city of Brussels. The last 9 month I had the fortune of living here full time. I have become to understand why expats dont wanna leave again. One of my goals here is to visit all large cities in Belgium and afterwards know a lot about Belgium. Living in the heart of Europe also gives me the possibility to visit many of the larger cities in the middle of Europe by car or by plane. The years I am here I will try to see a lot.
Café Belga
Situated on the everlasting building site of Place Flagey you can find one of the most popular bars in Brussels. Café Belga is a must for students and expats especially on a Friday evening or a Saturday noon.

The cafe is fairly large and in the summer it get even much larger when the outdoor area is being used. The furniture are the classical Belgian cafe chairs and tables from the 50thies or 60thies. Friday evening has either DJs laying or different live bands playing.

You can get a selectinon of Belgian beers there as well amongst the best ones are: Vedett, Duvel, Orval, Chimay, Chouffe, Barbar, St-Feuillien, Delirium, Tremens, Triple Karmeliet, and many more... The bar naurally serves other things than beers like different wine bottles and alcohol, fresh fruit juices, hot and cold soft drinks. You can also try their famous "Cocktail Belga" (vodka, canada dry, syrup of violet)!.
