Moscow International Automobile Salon

Russians love fancy things, and everybody loves fancy cars • at least to look at. I think it explains why we spent about 3 (!) hours in a terrible traffic jam trying to get to Crocus Expo where the Moscow International Automobile Salon took place.
I went there with my friend Valya, her boyfriend Nikita and his 7-years old son Danilka. It was the last weekend before school and that 1st September was the first school day in Danilka’s life so Valya and Nikita decided to make a surprise for him. Being a car fan (OMG this little boy knows about cars more than I do!) Danilka didn’t know where we were going to and was very curious and excited.
As we finally got to the place and managed to park we entered into the world of speed and luxury.
Our Danilka seemed to be one of the most mature persons at the Salon: men like children were having fun looking at and touching (even caressing) shining new cars and taking pictures of tall good-looking and little dressed promoters presenting these new techno-miracles to the excited audience. I was also impressed by this show • and could hardly imagine that all this can be used in every day life (white cars in Moscow winter?) but it was a real aesthetic pleasure.
To enterntain us and to attract our attention the organizers offered many activities • from video games to soccer exercises. Danilka was the most active among us and he played all the games possible and when we were totally exhausted he was still ready for some speed racing. Hope it was a good day for him before his new school life.
