A 4 day trip with 7 friends visiting 12 Hot Springs in the Atlanta Area of Idaho. Amazingness pretty much sums it up!
Phifer Hot Springs
If you happen to be passing by these springs, might as well stop and check them out…. They’re too funny. Basically it’s a make-shift bath house. It isn’t in super great shape and at any moment I’m sure it could fall over. There aren’t any springs here to sit and soak in but there is a cool 86° shower. It’s a pretty interesting sight.

Getting There:
From Atlanta take the Middle Fork Road (268) 15 miles downstream to an intersection of forest roads 156 & 327. Cross the bridge and turn left into a camp site. Park here and walk through the little shallow creek to your left. The bath house is on the far end of the clearing… you’ll see it, it looks like a bum lives there.

Granite Creek Hot Springs
What a great stop along the road…but maybe too close to the road, it’s only downfall. These hot springs are a very nice soak and you have many pools to choose from right on the rivers edge. If the springs are a bit too hot for your comfort, just move a few rocks and let the river water in!

Getting there:
From Atlanta take the Middle Fork Road (268) about 15 miles downstream to an intersection of forest roads 327 & 156. From that junction continue 3.4 miles to a pullout. The Springs are on the rivers edge.

If you’re looking for a good soak, don’t stop here! These hot springs are possibly only usable in fall after spring runoff and the river is down. You might be lucky enough to happen upon a few user built pools on the rivers edge but you might be that person to end up building it. The source pools are stricken with algae and are scorching hot. Don’t be mistaken though, these could be great springs with some work.

If you head over to enjoy these great springs, please do your part to keep it cleaner than when you got there! Bring a trash bag just in case, thanks!

Getting there:
From Atlanta take the Middle Fork Road (268) about 21 miles downstream to an intersection with forest road 255 (to trinity lakes). Park here and cross the bridge. Turn left at the end of the bridge and venture on down to the rivers edge.

Brown's Creek Hot Springs
This truly is an adventure. There springs are only reachable in early fall after spring runoff, because you have to ford the river. We went in the middle of August and it was still difficult crossing the swift river. Once you do sucedd it sure is worth it. There are three very small pools, only room for 4 people. They are right on the rivers edge and are filled by cascading spring water off the above cliff. It you get a chance to stop, do!

Getting there:
From Atlanta take the Middle Fork Road (268) about 25 miles downstream (3.5 miles past the bridge at forest road 255). Look for the springs across the river. Park in a tiny pull out on the road.
