A few hours drive to visit my grandparents grave....
August 25, 2008
It was a lovely day for visiting the grave of my grandparents. I haven't been there since i went to my grandma's funeral so it was about time. It's odd how you feel in good spirit going there and once you sitt down infront of the grave you feel like your eyes are filling up with tears. They didn't roll down my check but i could feel them pressing on. I went to get water to make sure the plant my mum had put there wouldn't dry up and would have a longer life to brighten up the stone.
I had a very good relationship to both of them so i guess that's why it felt like that, but i am really glad i went cause there is no excuse for me not to go back.
While i was in Hamar i decided to look around the areas i used to spend many long summers. It's kind of nice to reminisce a little of the past especially if there are good memories.
I was also born in this town so here are a few photos to show you Hamar:)
I was a little thirsty so i went to a cafe where i also borrowed the key to the bathroom. There was another lady there from Austrailia who i got chatting to while on our way down the stairs to the ladies:) She had been travelling for 3 weeks with her husband in Norway and loved it. SHe told me they were coming back next year for more so they could see the south of Norway as well. I told her would love to see her country as well but i will have to wait until my son, Kristoffer is older due to the flight. 24 hours is quite a ride for one with ADHD :)
I told her about TB that i've met up with an Austrailian here in Oslo as well as others and they've all been great people. She had also heard of the sight and thought it sounded great.
Well, after a few hours in Hamar it was time to go home and collect the goofood bag for the dog. He was starving at home so i guess a little reminiscing will have to continue while i drive home.......
