On the 8th of august me and two of my best friends set out for two weeks of sun, sea fun and culture in Mimizan and Barcelona. We drove to Mimizan by car and stayed at the campsite municipal du lac. It's not the most luxurious campsite in the world, but it does the trick if you enjoy the outdoors and don't need a lot of luxury (we did have electricity though :)). it's a real cheap campsite. For 11 days we payed around 70 euro's per person. The only thing that bothered us was the fact that we had to drive to mimizan-plage every night when we wanted to go clubbing.
We stopped two times on our way and arrived at our destination within 10 hours!! :D needless to say we did not follow all of the traffic rules. Our place was pretty big and we set up our three tents. Because the weather was great and we had done all of our work it was time for the shorts and time to catch some waves :D :D!!
All week the weather was fantastic except for two days with waves up to five meters (double/ triple overhead). We're not pro's so we had to sit those out. The other days were perfect for surfing, as were the girls on the beach :D :D. For surfers it's a bit crowded in the summer time, but truth be told there are enough waves for everyone!!
As for the nightlife... You can get cocktails and off course a nice beer or giraffe (2,5 liters of beer) at bars like Pili Pili, the Surf bar and afterwards go dancing at Pura vida and the American Bar. Pura vida is a fantastic bar (certainly for the dutch people)!!
After ten days we said goodbye to mimizan with pain in our hearts. So off to Barcelona after those fantatsic days..
