Once we arrived in Orlando, we collected our luggage only to put it onto another conveyor belt which takes it to the main terminal. I'm not sure why they just don't send them there directly in the first place, but I can understand not wanting block up the common areas of the terminals with luggage as people made their way out. We spent a little time wondering around looking for the bus transfer to get to our hotel. 15 minutes and a few happy snaps later our transfer bus arrived.
We piled on, getting the back seat as we would be the last lot of passengers to be dropped off. On the drive to the various destinations we kept commenting on how many large cars there were out on the highways and roads. It was unbelievable! It seemed that if you removed all the taxis about 80% of the cars left on the roads were pick-ups or 4-wheel drives. So many "gas guzzlers".
Our hotel was fantastic. Very large, clean and top notch. It was fairly late in the evening by the time we sorted our stuff out and as plane food isn't the largest of portions nor the best we were hungry. A short walk down the road and around the corner, we found a few little restaurants and picked a steakhouse that looked nice. The meal was delicious and we left feeling very full and content. Unfortunately we were also very tired after the flight and all the waiting we had done during the day so we called it a night. Plus we had some big days of fun park ahead of us and wanted to be refreshed for that.
