Le Blockhaus d'Éperlecques
August 23, 2008
The second place we went to on Saturday was Le Blockhaus d'Éperlecques. In my opinion this was the best site of the whole weekend. This is where the German launched the V1 Rockets from and there were plans to build and launch the V2 towards London. These plans were cancelled because of Allied bombing and the 6 ton Tall boy bomb. We went around to the back of the bunker and we saw the hole a 6 ton bomb can leave. Towards the end of the tour is a set up of a V1 Launch site. So we got to see how it was done. There are also some artillery pieces setting around and the crater of another Tall boy bomb.
