This is the blog for the 2 day trip to Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais in France. We visited La Couple, Bunker Eperlecques, Forteresse de Minoyecques and Mussee du Mur de l'Atliantique a Audinghen. These places famous for the launching of the V1 rockets by the germans at London and Belgium. Also the planned sites for the launching of the V2 and V3 Rockets. Also we went to the Cap-Gris-Nez.

La Coupole

Our trip started off leaving early Saturday morning from Mons and getting to La Coupole before 10am when it's suppose to open.  From the outside you can see the bunker from the main road.  We had to pull over and take a few pictures from a distance.   We purchases the 2 for one tickets,  1 ticket for entrance to La Coupole and 1 entrance to the Bunker Eperlecques,  The second Bunker we went to that day.   Inside the La Coupole Bunker is a nice Presentation of World War 2 and the development of the V1 and V2 Rockets.  The bunker itself was suppose to be where the V2 Rockets where to be launched from but bombing from the allies, mostly from the 6 ton Tallboy Bomb, prevented to Germans from ever launching them from this site.  There is a V1 and V2 on display in the main part of the bunker.
