Sunny Beach Bulgaria
Before my daughter was going on her teaching practice we would like to have a short vacation. So we had to choose. Difficult, there are a lot of places we would like to see. On the internet we saw Bulgaria, that was not the first thing that crossed our mind, but by reading what we could do overthere we decided to go to Bulgaria.
We landed in Burgas, one of the main cities in Bulgaria. We thought this would be a big airport, but it was very small. At the moment we came in the building it was not a friendly welcome. Unfriendly people! Wel we hoped the rest was better. We had to drive about 30 minutes before we were in our hotel. We stayed in hotel Majestic in Sunny Beach. During the busdrive i saw a lot of things i didn't want to see on my holliday.
In Nessebar there are a lot of shops which claim to sell antiques. The most things are NOT antiques! But that is not my main problem. They sell a lot of things referring to the second world war. Telling you that it is authentique. But in fact it is new, and manipulate to look old. They sell watches with pictures from Hitler on it, they sell swastika buckles and little statues of Hitler. It is a pitty it happens overthere. So i have had it with Nessebar. The buildings are beautiful but that's it!
We planned 2 excursions, one to the inland, and one to Turkey.
Istanbul for 2 days (incl Breakfast, lunch and the excursion). Possible on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Leaving at 05.00 a.m. and back 09.00 pm. Price in Lev is 135 pp. and in euro 70 (make sure you take Euro's with you! Or Turkish dinars for the boattrip in Istanbul, you have to pay that when you arrive in Istanbul). (the boattrip is not included in the price!!!)
Istanbul for 1 day (incl. Breakfast, lunch and excursion) (i would not recommend this, too short). Possible on Tuesday and Friday. Leaving at 09.00 p.m.(driving in the night) Price is 99 Lev. or 51 euro.
Istanbul for 1 day (excursion and shopping) Possible on tuesday and Friday. Leaving at 09.00 pm. Price 69 Lev or 36 euro.
Sofia-Plovdiv-Rila. (breakfast, lunch twice, dinner. Possible on Tuesday.Leaving at 06.00 a.m. Price 163 Lev or 84 euro.
Kazanlak-Shipka-Etara Valley of Roses. Possible on Wednesday and Saturday. Leaving at 06.00 a.m. Price 79 Lev or 41 Euro.
Kotel-Zheravna-Sliven, Blue mountain, Possible on Wednesday and Saturday. Leaving at 08.00 a.m. Price 76 Lev or 39 euro.
Varna- Dolphinarium- Aladcha monast. (lunch) Possible on Tuesday and Friday. Leaving 08.00 a.m. Price 58/44 Lev. or 30/23 euro.(if you are dutch or expect a lot, you will be dissapointed. It is not spectaculair, and if you are used to the dolphinarium in Harderwijk. Than you are much more dissapointed.
Varna-Dolphinarium - Aladcha monast. (without lunch) Possible on Tuesday and Friday. Leaving at 08.00 a.m. Price 51/40 Lev or 26/21 Euro
Varna shopping. Possible on Tuesday and Friday. Leaving at 08.00 a.m. Price 25/15 Lev. or 13/8 Euro
Sozopol-Ropotamo and St. George monast. (lunch). Possible on Monday and Thursday. Leaving 08.00 a.m. Price 45/30 Lev or 23/15 euro.
Sozopol-Ropotamo (without lunch) Possible on Monday and Thursday. Leaving at 08.00 a.m. Price 39/26 Lev or 20/13 euro.

Eco-Jeep-Safari-Excursion. Possible every day. Leaving at 09.00 a.m. Price 69/50 Lev or 35/26 Euro.
Robinson (boat) Possible Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Leaving 09.00 a.m. Price 55 Lev or 28 euro.
