BKK meet up, August 2008
As others have mentioned before, it´s hard to describe, what the meet-up was like! So I will just try to write an introduction and let the pics tell the story of the meet up itself.
I took the Sky Train from Chong Nonsi to National Stadium about 75 minutes before we wanted to meet on Khaosan Road. On National Stadium BTS-Station, a group of young people of different origins, talking English came to my attention, some of them have already been on my Skytrain...I didn´t recognize any of them, but I thought "well, let´s just ask, if they´ve got something to do with TB". And so I did and I almost ended up in a Couchsurfing meet up! :-)
But of course I wanted to meet my gang from TB and so I took a Tuk-Tuk from National Stadium to Khaosan Road. On the way to Khaosan heavy rain started and even the map in my backpocket drenched, because a small lake filled the Tuk-Tuk-bench.
Thanks to perfect directions, I didn´t take long until I found Hippie the bar...and the knee-deep lake infront of the entrance. "What shall I do?" I asked myself..."Well, just swim!"...and I did and made my way to the meet up.
Once I carefully put my head around the corner, Dodge had a little scrutinizing view on me and then started screaming "Woooooosaaaaah"!
About eight of us were already there and more or less ahead concerning drunkenness.
I got a warm welcome by all of them and choose a seat next to Najiah. She arrived some minutes before me. We decided to do our best to catch up with the drunkenness of the others and ordered our first beers!
More and more TBs joined us and the rest of the story will be told by the pictures!
The resume was that I had a great night with great people! I had a blast and the eight hours went by way too fast!
And well, I think most of you already know, that I missed my bus to Koh Phangan the next morning, but that´s another story (though connected to the meet up - events! ;-))!
