Manley and Bondi Beaches

The weather yesterday was a bit rainy and cloudy...the weather today was horrible. It was windy and cold all day...and today we had planned on going to the beaches. The weather had been a bit overcast each morning anyway so we went to the beaches anyway in hopes it would clear up as it had in the past. Instead the wind picked up.
We took the ferry to Manle beach accross the harbor. It's a 20min trip but with the harbor water swelling in the weather it was rough. I thought it was fun, Kim was scared the boat would tip.
Manley had great potential and would have been excellent if not for the weather. We did a little window shopping and then ate Fish and Chips at a place recommended to us. They were great but it seems customary for small shops to charge 20 cents or so for tarter sauce, ketchup, etc. Something we weren't used to.
From Manley we took the ferry back and then took the train to Bondi beach. We had to take a short bus ride from the train station to the beach. At Bondi was the Sculpture by the Sea event. There are about 60 or so sculptures along a walk along the edge of the sea. The art was...art. Not my cup of tea, but interesting all the same. As we crested a hill the wind picked up and at one point was so forceful my friend's glasses flew off and into the sea. We could actually lean against the wind and it would hold us up. Needless to say, the girls were cold so we went back to the main town, had some beers, and then caught the bus/train back to Sydney.
With the weather and all we made it a bit of an early night because we were going to be meeting our friends Suzi and Tim, who we met on our Asia cruise, tomorrow morning.
