Mom and I are heading to Paris for a week to celebrate her 60th birthday.

At the airport.

Mom is much more relaxed now that we are here.  We talked about the fact that mom and dad sent me to Paris for the first time when I was 13, and if a 13 year old boy can manage with his friends, than she will do just fine with that same boy 21 years later.  Everything so far has been easy which has made it nice.  This morning I was feeling a little apprehensive myself.  I had a bad omen when I walked out my door this morning, a dead bird laying on my doorstep -- very Shakespearean.  After cleaning that up, I walked to my office where a priest was standing in front of the main entrance -- its not every day that you see a priest on campus, so I took that as a good sign.  We'll see, once the plane lands in rainy Paris at 11:25am local time.  We should be boarding in the next half hour or so, and hopefully I will have some pictures on here very soon.

Bon Voyage.
