First day...long walk...meeting jegs...mini TB meet up and more..

Okay so this trip finally happened after years of trying to convince amy to go with me to england. so she finally got some money and off we go to LONDON baby!!

We left on a friday 8-8-08 which was sucky cause i missed the begginning of the olympics. our flight left at 11am to Not Toronto but the other city...i forgot the name.. it might be montreal..so stop over there..we almost missed our connecting flight but luckily they held our flight for us.

we arrived in london the next day. saturday.. we were arriving before jegs and we were supposed to meet up with him in the hostel then go the eye where we are supposed to meet up with other TBs from england.

we got off the plane and headed for the tube where we a ticket to paddington station via express tube. from there amy wanted to find her tattoo place in soho firth street so we walked all the way from the station down oxford street to her tattoo place (which turned out not to be opened yet).. its not short walk at all... plus we had all our bags..(i had amys heavy bag and she had my light bag) because ofcourse girl pack everything and they pack it in the most uncomfortable baggage to lug around. so being a gentleman i offered to carry it for her (my shoulder had identations off the bag straps)..

first we had an "authentic" english breaky which was good.. not great.. then we headed off through hyde park where i got a pic infront of the peterpan statue... we got lost... went in a big circle around the park until we decided to just take the road.. when found oxford street! but then it started to rain. . which was great cause it was our first british rain (but it will not be so great after a few days of british rain).. we got lost down oxford street and passed soho several times.. but we finally found Firth st and found amys tattoo shop... we had to wait till it opened at 12 so we were already late to meet up with jegs. hahah (turns out the tattoo place was fully booked bummer)

so we headed to our hostel... took the tube to elephant and castle and walked down burough high street which was again another long walk... we couldnt find the hostel and it started raining again.. i called jegs and told him to come outside and find us. haha we met him infront of a church infront of our hostel.. HE LOOKED JUST LIKE HIS PICTURES.. haha so thats a good sign. we hugged eachother and i listened to him try to speak english which was funny.. we got checked in and then matt gave me a call saying that they were already at the pub.. so we were late again but we decided to take our time getting there..

we too the tube to the eye but we couldnt find them...so we stood out in the rain and called matt to pick us up.. we followed him to this arcade / bar place.. where i met Wayne, Bondy, Lori, Audrey, and Matt number 2.  They had all started drinking and bough me a guiness which was really nice of them.. amy just sat there silent ofcourse...   after they finished their snack.. we all went for a little game of bowling.. me and matt teamed up and amy and jegs teamed up.. they did end up beating us but by only 1 pin i think. they cheated probably. hahah

after bowling we headed across the bridge toward westminster and bigben... we got separated from the rest of the group cause we were busy talking and taking pictures.. so matt had to come and get us again... then we headed to.....covent garden? where we had lunch at this place... i had the chicken... then off to camden market for more drinking... well the others went drinking...but me amy and jegs went around cambden instead.. where we looked at several tattoo shops and stuff... then we headed back to the pub where we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hostel for a little R and R..

Once we had a little rest... we headed off for another walk.. this time to see the bridges and the tower of london... we walked by the river thames and down the streets of london to see the egg shaped building... then we were getting hungry so we stopped by this chinese food place by our hostel..

it was GREAT DAY... but very tiring..  OooooO and i got a mug from Jegs!.. ahha
