Top of Hanging Rock
On Saturday we went trekking in two places. The first place was Hanging Rock. Well the first thing we saw at the trail head was a sign prohibiting rock climbing. Oh boy, well if you know Mario, you know how he interprets that more as an invitation to climb! The trekking is very easy and enjoyable which was good since it was a hot day. We took in a few viewpoint on the way to the summit. The photo ops from the summit are very nice. Hanging Rock is exactly that. It is a large rock formation that hangs suspended in space. I enjoyed listening to other trekkers exclaim in surprise when they was Mario perched on the edge (actually beyond the edge). Even Donna had some nerves to sit on the edge.

For me, since we had the kid's with us, I was nervous about one of them going over. Arghhhhhhh, so much for adrenaline.

The second summit is called the Pinnacle at Pilot Mountain. The trekking also is very easy and we enjoyed the slightly cooler temps in the shade of the forest before arriving to the Pinnacle. We found many perfect places for climbing and enjoyed the beautiful green area and the wicked rock faces. Part way up the climb, Mario looked at a purple lizard and tried to catch it. So other people walking by made a comment about the blue lizard. So I had to tell them the blue lizard was actually a French Canadian. Hahahaha On the decent, we were slightly annoyed by a group of kid's yelling so much.
Donna and Mario Livin' on the Edge!!
Until we realized they had disturbed a bee nest and were under attack. Everyone of them had 3 or more stings each. Ouch. Mario tried to help with some mud, but they were too upset and didn't want his help.

In the night we invited Francisco and Natalia over for a party since they couldn't make it to the meetup. We had a really nice time. Val and Mario brought a bottle of Iced Cider from Canada. So we opened it and kept drinking it til it was gone. You should try it, it's very good and if you put it in the freezer it tastes so good super chilled. I then opened a bottle of 'FireFly' which is a Carolina Vodka infused Ice Tea. Mario created a new drink with Firefly and Red Bull , the Fire-Bomb. Everybody else enjoyed it so much, but it was not for me :) We drank that whole bottle, and listened to some great music and sat under the stars and enjoyed it all.
