first week: adventure
second and third week: chill out
So, being settled at our first basecamp and inspired by Bear Grill's ultimate survival, we took our small rucksacks, and went off road to the forest ahead of us. Via an old single train track, old graves and a big cornfield we entered the woods. There was no road, and even when we saw one, we only crossed it to go further through the woods. The first part took us through bushes as high as our arms, to find out there were blackberrys. Our spiritual guide Bear Grills told us we should eat to give us energy if we wanted to stay alive. So we did.
We climbed higher and saw the woods became pinewoods. Chilled on a hunters tower to have a view all over the valley. The third part was the top, we were joyfull as we made it to the top alive without oxygen masks just to find out there was another top much higher in front of us. A family crossed by at a path next to us, talking in Dutch... Just when our spirit was a bit low, we found a fallen tree, with shiny stones underneath it. They weren't regular stones: it was amethyst !! As real archeologists we searched in the whole area for an hour to find more and beautiful parts of it. Putting our treasures in our bags and went down hill.
