Auckland Sky Tower

Still in zombie mode, we fought the tiredness and made the most of our first and last night in Auckland by visiting the Sky Tower, the tallest free-standing structure in the southern hemisphere, at 328 metres. We planned to go as the sun was going down, but were obviously a few minutes late as the sun was saying its goodbyes when we got there. Nevertheless, we were still treated to a nice lookout of the city before our eyes really started to sting with a lack of sleep.

It was just a shame that our retreat was a horrible hostel room - boiling hot, no window and a rickety old extractor fan that did very little apart from keeping us awake. It was a joy to check out the next day and find refuge in a park.

Anyway, enough about me. Let's talk about you.
