Germany
Took the night train from Brussels to Berlin, I barely slept on the train. I had a hard time sleeping because I was so paranoid sharing a cochette with 5 other people. Arrived in Berlin early in the morning, found the metro and headed to the hostel. We managed to be in Berlin the same time they were having the Berlin Marathon, this made it a bit harder to get around the city because a lot of streets were blocked off. It did bring all the good food to one area, there were several booths full of food and beer around the finish line. After we had our fair share of food, we decided to try to do a city tour. We decided to do the Third Reich tour today and the city tour tomorrow.
The Third Reich tour was very interesting, we learned all about Hilter and his plans.
The next day we did the Bike tour of the city, which gave us a better look at of the city. It probably would have been better do this tour first because it gave a general overview of everything. We saw some of the same sites we had seen yesterday with the Third Reich tour but with a broader historical look. Some additional sites we saw was the book burning memorial, which was an underground book shelf that would hold the amount of books that were burned that day. We also saw Checkpoint Charlie, which had a post with the words "You are now entering the American sector. Our last stop was at the Reichstag building, which is the home of German's Parliment.
