I'm the teany tiny person sitting in the "d"

Caught our flight from London Gatwick to Amsterdam. Then took the train into the central station, it was very easy. Found our hostel and settled in, it was about 6pm when we got to the city.  Walked around a bit and tried to look for something to eat, someone recommended that we try Indonesian food so that's what we did. I've never had Indonesian food before, tasted like a mix of Chinese and Thai food. After dinner we went to go check out the Red Light District. The whole area had a tint of red, from the red lights around the windows. It was weird walking down the street, sex and drugs are so common here.  Walking down every street, you see a coffee shop or porn shop. I think the Red Light District is over-rated, it actually wasn't as bad as I expected.

My Heineken Non-experience
I did see a couple of ladies that probably should retire from the industry. haha.

Next day we got up early and headed to Yellow Bike, the bike rental place.  In order to get the full Amsterdam experience, we had to do it by bike. Everyone rides a bike here, they have a parking lot for bikes.  Amsterdam is a pretty small city, with several canals and alleys.  It was a bit frustrating trying to find the places we were looking for because we would pass right by the street, but it was an adventure. Our first stop was the Van Gough Museum. Walked through the museum and saw a large collection of his pieces. It was interesting to see his paintings evolve with time as he perfected his own style. Next we went over to check out the Heinkein Brewery, sadly they were closed because they were refurbishing the brewery. We just rode around the city, stopping at the Anne Frank House and the Harbor. Returned our bikes and walked around a bit more looking for dinner.  There really wasn't much to see in Amsterdam, I pretty much saw everything that I wanted in one day.

Tomorrow we take the train to Brussels, Belgium.
