Qumran - Dead Sea Float - Masada

The journey to Israel appealed to me for reason far less pious than I, sometimes, am willing to concede. Most simply: I went to reunite with a dear friend who had, by equal parts choice and chance, settled there. After eight years apart from her, I took the plunge. And it was, rewarding beyond measure, to our friendship, and,to me as Christian.

Qumran - Dead Sea Float - Masada

I had my first camel ride at Qumran. Backstory:  En route to Qumran, still about two km away from the destination, I spotted my first camel standing by a roadside shop. Excited, and determined to see it up close, I made a mad u-turn and pulled up as close as I could. Then, no later than 10 minutes later, when we reached Qumran, the first thing we saw was a man, in the parking lot, with a camel. He offered rides for 5USD or  20NIS. To think, I swerved, and turned, as if the first camel were the last I’d see LOL

Note on Qumran and Masada: both are beautiful, and, terribly hot, just as you'd imagine desert areas.
