We ambled into Idaho with the "vision-of-potatoes" in our heads; we ordered a lunch of potato soup but the waitress said they were out of potatoes (Go figure)? So we visited the Idaho Potato Museum instead!
Idaho was unexpectedly varied; the ground appeared black and knobby. We learned it was molten rock forced upward through fissures in the earth which cooled into lava rock.
In addition, sagebrush was plentiful, and the irrigation systems were an engineering marvel.
