My memory is getting weak i guess, i don't remember all things we did at that day. RJ i'm not sure if i can help u out:///
I'm sure only about that part, when we took pictures hahaha
First we went from London Bridge station (because we were never sure if the nearest station 'Borough' would be open or closed) to Canary Wharf. It's in Dockland - eastern part of London, where they built (or are still building) the new bussiness disctrict, with some new skyscrapers (it would be probably the same as La Defence in Paris). I guess RJ like this place because he wants to be an architect [or he's already almost one;) ] Tama ako? I've no idea about that stuff, i know if something i like or not, but he must be looking at buildings with an eye of architect, how they are built or so.
Then after Amy found another dog and was like flirting with the owner of the dog;) we changed for DLR line southbound and got off at Island Gardens, which was the place, where we wanted go to an old tunnel under Themes connecting the southern part - Greenwich with the northern part - Docklands. I saw it few years ago on a web site - and now we found it. It's strange but it is like a funny place to go (in the past it was the only way in this part of the city, but now there is this DLR line connecting bouth districts)
On the other side of the tunnel - we visited the Old Naval College - and asked other tourists how to find the zero-meridian (some call it the greenwich line) and we headed to the Greenwich Observatory, passing by one of the queen's houses then through the park climbed to the observatory.
Then we had a look at the observatory, took pics on the meridian line and sat in a restaurant for coffe and RJ for a strange soup (he told us it was pretty tasty, but i had my doubts about that hahaha). Going down the hill we found some dry grass and were staying there for rest.
Then walking back to the station we found (as they wrote at the entrance) "the first shop on the western hemisphere" (cos it's nearest the 0-meridian) - where Amy was looking for more souvenirs;)
Kensington was our destination after Greenwich. We met there Matt and walked to the Kensington Gardens, saw the Palace and Matt had to go.
SAYANG! I wanted try some pinoy food! Ariel didn't bring anything with him, and now we couldn't find even an effin restaurant or store:(
RJ, u will have to cook me a tasty pinoy meal in Vegas! Or where ever we will meet!
Next stop: Oxford Street - with even more shops, so it took some hours there! We were stopping every 50m and waiting for Amy but then we found a large book shop!!! There were even me and Ariel - who had fun at shopping;)
I found a tagalog dictionary but it was too expensive (i better order one at amazon.
At that point called Matt - he were not far away from the place we were and so we waited for him few minutes. He joined us and we went to another large store and it started to rain that heavily and even it was hailing for a minute! We all 4 went then to a pub for some beer - wine and snacks. I found on the city map that there is a Poland Street just like 3 blocks away and we went ther for taking a picture:))) From the pub... hm... this is the point i'm not sure what was next. We said 'bye' to Matt cos he had an appointment and we headed stright to the hostel, OR went to Leicester Sq. (or was it Covent Garden???) enjoying the evening streets of London, and from there to the hostel.
My buddies RJ and Amy were sleeping again on the metro train.
Then we were at the supermarket - i was looking for a typical british beer, but the stuff didn't help us, so we asked another customer - and that guy told us almost everything about the local beer sold in that shop. I choosed one of them and we went back to the hostel. Amy was chatting and RJ and i went to the chill out room. RJ thaught me a filipino game "pusoy dos" - and so we drank british beer and played a filipino card dame. Of course RJ was cheatting, he didn't tell me all the rules so i din't know how to play, but it was something new and it was fun.
RJ, was it at that night, when i asked u to send a message to ur parents in tagalog? Probably. Anyway it took me like half an hour or maybe more to convince him to do that (i won!!!) - cuz i'm pretty patient and persistent - not that lazy and giving-up-quickly like some of us;) hahah
But i must say it was pretty fun to convince RJ hahahah (hey, next time we have to repeat it with another thing hahaha - you player;) hahaha)
