In August 2008 I travelled aroud Thailand for three weeks :-) I travelled from Bangkok, to Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao and I trekked two days in the mountans nearby the Burmese border. After returning in Chiang Mai I traveld to Koh Samui just to relax, swim and doing nothing :-)

Arriving in Bangkok

After a 11 hour flight from Dusseldorf I arrived saturdaymorning the 16th of August in Bangkok. Inside the Airport it was already hot and when I arrived at the Luggagebelt my backpack arrived very quickly.  So ready for heading to the center of the town. A nice taxi brought me to De'Moc Hotel which was very nice cool and clean. I decided to order some roomservice, some western and some Thai food. It was really delicious... I walked a little bit to see what's in the neighbourhood of my hotel. A nice temple, very busy traffic, a flower store, a seven eleven, a little river and a roundabout. When I took some pictures of a monument a guy offered me a tuktuk ride, yeah grand palace is free entrance now. It was late in the afternoon and I planned to visit the grand palace tomorrow. And at the other hand I didn't believe him very much that the entrance now would be for free. So I set off back to the hotel, had some drinks, used the some bath per hour internet and had some good night sleep :-)

A little oasis in Bangkok
This hotel is a nice quiet place to hang out with a bit of luxury. It's clean, nice and the rooms are cool which is very welcome after the first temperature shock when you arrive at the airport of Bangkok. The staff is nicely dressed and are very helpful even if they don't exactly understand you. You've got internet for a very reasonable price and the roomservice I ordered the first evening was excellent. Breakfast is good too, many dishes to choose from and of course fresh fruit. Another advantage of this hotel is the free tuktuk which brings you to the most popular street in Bangkok, Khao San Road. The place to be for the backpackers. This hotel is also known at his former name, the Thai Hotel. But I think every taxi driver have already heard of this great hotel.
