One week travelling around Darwin and Kakadu NP, and two weeks volunteering with the West Arnhem Land Dog Health Program in remote Aboriginal communities.

Territory Day

Arrived in Darwin about 5pm on my Jetstar flight and took the airport shuttle to my hostel Melaleuca on Mitchell (who I later found out refund the shuttle bus cost of $9 anyway if you stay at least 3 nights). The hostel cost $28/night (with my YHA discount, despite not being a YHA hostel) and I was put in a female 4 bed dorm. My room-mates were L from England and K from Melbourne. I tried to find my friend Rose for ages but gave up and went to Mindil Beach with L and her friend C who drove us there to watch the Territory Day fireworks. They were amazing! They even had pink fireworks that exploded in the shape of hearts.
