Woke up really early and had a pretty leisurely start before leaving for Malgawa just before 9am. I had some Vita-weats with vegemite, a jelly + fruit pack, and a cuppa soup for breakfast. There we met J, J, A + A Jnr. They had 4 bininj (male) dogs for us to neuter. It took ages for us to sort all our stuff out. F did the first two then we drove down to the creek where R + A Jnr went for a swim and we had lunch. J gave us wild rhubarb petals to try which were very tangy. After lunch I did a castration. I think I've only done one before and never closed but F was a great teacher. It took me ages but looked fine when I finished and the incision was only ~2.5cm long. R did the last one + she did a great super quick job. We packed up afterwards and headed back, stopping on the way to pick up firewood. The colonel Mick Rozzoli + 3 other army blokes had come to visit and they headed back with us. The sun was almost setting when we arrived but we had a refreshing swim in the waterhole then I washed my hair with the aid of an instrument bucket (rinsed out of course!). One of the army blokes was Ben Dark who has only been in the army 3 months and used to be a presenter on 'Getaway'. Went to bed pretty early as my back was really hurting and fell asleep almost immediately.
