Karen and I took off for a spontaneous weekend of shopping in Vegas. We stayed at Treasure Island which was a good hotel choice. The beds were heavenly to say the least! I did not want to leave that luxury pillow-topped dream bed behind! We didnt really go out and do or see much besides a whole lot of shopping. I took off for one night on my own and walked up the strip as far as the Paris Hotel which was a weird experience. I couldnt get over the fact that you can walk right out of any place with your beer in your hand and walk down the sidewalk with it! It was so nice to get some sun and the palm trees and chlorinated waterfalls and foutains were so pretty. We did however see a girl immediatly after getting hit by a car on the strip. She was convulsing on the road. it was so sad. She had to be younger than me. We never found out if she survived. It was also sad driving past some of the older hotels that are being demolished. Like the Stardust I think was one and next to go will probably be the Stratosphere. I hadn't been to the states in quite a long time and the whole trip reminded me of how different Americans are from Canadians... but I wont elaborate on that! Anyways, it was a good trip. Got lots of cool stuff (Mmmm Sephora and Juicy Couture... i love you). Someday I will have to go back and do the things I didnt get to like see the dolphins at the Mirage and check out the Neon Graveyard.
