Bar Port Alegre: San Sebastian beach is just beyond the older section of Sitges (usually overlooked by day-trippers) with the wonderous town church and local museums nearby.

There are some excellent restaurants and bars on this small cove, plus a few cafes like the spritely Bar Port Alegre. This fine little snack bar is packed with nautical exotica and sports numerous framed photos of Sitges through the century. It also has superb views right out onto the beach.

Just up the road to the east is the stunning walled town cemetery on Plaça del Doctor Robert: "The most interesting sepulchers showing an extreme sensibility are a demonstration of the high level of the Catalan Art Nouveau style sculpture built between 1900 and 1910." Not to be missed.
