Affordable Spa that doesn't skimp on ammenities
The Spa at Gainey Village is a very affordable alternative to the pricey Scottsdale spa scene. Massages are approximately $100/hr, a price more typical of a standard downtown spa in a small US city, but are performed at the level of a high-end destination spa typical of Scottsdale. I personally recommend the Sonoran mud wrap as a special treat for anyone wanting to try something other than a traditional massage or facial. The spa has all of the standard services (massages, hair and nail salon, facials, waxing) and also has some more unique treatments in their body treatments and acupuncture areas. Your booking also gets you access to the health club and use of the pools, saunas, and jacuzzis. Plan to spend extra time relaxing or taking advantage of the classes offered at the gym.

Romantic setting for a fantastic dinner
Lon's is a fantastic spot for southwestern American cuisine. The menu is focused on dishes with a southwestern flair and combining local ingredients, like prickly pear cactus. The food is upscale and beautifully presented without being pretenyious (and how could it be with mac and cheese on the menu). The wine list is extensive, though a bit high priced. But the most enchanting part about Lon's is the darkened patio dining. Romantically low-lit by lanterns and outdoor stoves, the effect allows stargazing or sharing dessert with that special someone.
