Road trip in Lithuania
July 26, 2008
I woke up early feeling good; I quickly went down in the hotel restaurant and had my breakfast which was quiet okay. The hotel was full of elderly German ladies on a bus trip around the Baltic capitals and the talking was loud; it was like the sound at wine tasting after the 3rd or 4th glass, went the tongues are running off for everyone.
I went up and had a shower and the left the hotel driving around in the city trying to find an ATM because I didn’t have the time the day before to retrieve some local currency. I found a Danish bank and was otherwise amazed by the good fortune I had with the weather; not a cloud on the sky.

Hertz in Vilnius, Lithuania
Hertz in Vilnius is situated to the left when you leave the arrival area. At the end of the old main building there a number of boxes, where the rental companies are situated. Each box was one company.
The guy inside the Hertz box was very efficient but that was not what you could about the French couple in front of me who wanted to rent their car for a couple of weeks of driving in the Baltic states. I had them suspected for being in a car rental for the first time; the number of questions that they generated would had covered several seasons of Jeopardy.
Finally it was my turn and the couple left for the parking lot. I had may papers and keys in a jiffy and arriving at the parking in front of the airport I had to help the French couple turn on the lights on the car; they were knee deep in the manual when I arrived. I hope they managed.
Returning the car was just as easy, there was no problem at all and the people in there were very efficient.
