Small camp used by special forces to teach how to live off of the land in the jungle. Note the sign made of animal bones.

Recently hosted a shoot in the jungles north of Panama City for the local police and defense forces.  Range was located in the middle of the jungle on a hilltop on property that used to be owned by the U.S. Department of Defense.  we had to pick up a guide at the base of the hill / small mountain, who led us in our 4x4 SUV up some pretty decrepit mud roads.  Had to switch the transfer case into 4-wheel drive at one point to get through some pretty thick mud.  Panama has had some pretty intense rains this rainy season to the point that their natural water supply has been tarnished with mud.  As a result, there was no bottled water to be found anywhere on this trip.  Likewise, the ground was completely saturated, which made for tough going off-road.  Weather was very humid although it wasn't as hot as it could have been.  We shot for one full day with a variety of 6 different semi-automatic and fully automatic assault weapons.  Range was an engineered level piece of ground in an otherwise, anything but level piece of real estate.  Surrounding the range were 4 walls of triple-canopy jungle.  Despite the stories, I didn’t see any crazy wildlife such as the monstrous bugs, snakes and monkeys I had been warned about.
