Me with the Fathers of Communism, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.
Ok, so this is where I play catch-up. I know it's been a while since my last entry, but I've been distracted. After everyone from the first group left, I grabbed a train from Berlin to the Netherlands to visit Dorus. (For those few who don't know, Dorus lived with my family in Andrews for a year as a study abroad student)
Dorus lives in the small town of Wilp, just outside of Deventer, in the eastern part of Holland. A gorgeous little town without much around except for fields and farms. After meeting me at the train station, Dorus and I traveled to his house and I met his family. They had just returned home from a three week vacation in Italy. They had some great pictures of Tuscany, Florence, and the western coast of "the boot."
It really was a quiet week.

After a busy month of touring and singing, it was nice to be in one place and not have to worry about doing anything for a couple of days. Dorus' family was amazing. They are just all around great people.
The week I spent there was mostly sleeping and reading. But Dorus' father, Hans, was kind enough to show me around Wilp and some of the other neighboring towns and cities. Karin, Dorus' mother, brought me along to Amsterdam with her on Friday the 15th. She was visiting her sister and I just hopped on a tram and walked through the city center. It was great to see some of the places I visited three years ago when I came to see Judd when he was living in Holland.
The following day, I left Dorus and his family and headed back to the Hartz mountains. After a two hour delay on my first train and arriving back in Quedlinburg about 3.
Berlin Wal
5 hours after I had intended to, I finally made it home to the Lietz's. But, keeping with the wanderlust spirit, I only stayed one full day and headed to Dresden on Monday for a concert.
I had purchased my tickets online for the show three weeks in advance and had them mailed to the Tech Center. Unfortunately, they required a signature for delivery and in the process of everything, got lost. So I went to Dresden thinking I could get one at the door, but it was sold out. So I walked around Dresden for an evening, enjoying the night life and the beautiful city.
On Tuesday, I booked another train for Berlin and headed back to the big city. Wednesday brought with it the fall group, so Professor Merchant and I juggled all the different flight schedules and rounded everyone up in a little under 5 hours. We did a little touring, mostly just to keep everyone up long enough to be completely exhausted by night time so they could sleep.
Today started the process of repeating all the touring I did with the first group a month ago, so I just sat back and took it all in. I have some good pictures for everyone. Some of the same stuff, but i was hoping that I was getting a few more "artistic" ones in the bunch. Well, I think that's about it.

Oh, I'll throw in a couple of pictures from Amsterdam at the end of the pictures.
