My massive bed...

I went to Phuket last year and I loved it, so decided to go back again... however I think I would chose Langkawi over phuket next time!

Even more westernised that last time I was here, and even more aussies! Its like I havent even left melbourne... apart from the guys in the shops grabbing my hand and asking me to marry them over and over... that doesnt happen at home...

SO anyway, I get to patong beach at about 9pm and go out and get some dinner. In true aussie style, i make my first pit stop the aussie bar. So im sitting in the aussie bar having a few drinks on my lonesome, when i look down and notice the tattoo parlour... The idea of getting a tattoo has crossed my mind in the last couple of months.

On Bangla Rd with my aussie mates
. but id never go out of my way to get one. I figured why not, i had nothing else to do?? Haha so off i went into the tattoo place, and 15minutes later, out I come with a small aries symbol tattooed on my ankle. I'm still pumping from the adrenaline of doing something random, that i decide even though its 3am back home, i have to show my mum... her reply "Wow... thats for life u idiot" haha classic. So i had a few more drinks, couldnt stop smiling from my rush. The security guard working there was trying to get me to promise to meet up with him tomorrow on the beach, but when he asked if "you like thai boy??" in a high pitched voice, i really couldnt lie and say that it was something i was into... so i snuck away and headed back to my hotel.

The next day was a lovely day in phuket.

My Thai friends at the thai music place
.. so much so that i decided i would head down to my favourite market and just chill out with a drink for a few hours. A few hours turned into the whole day and I think my eyes started playing up after so much connect 4!
I met some really cool guys that worked at a bar in the market area (across the rd from holiday inn).
My new best friend Joel said I should go to "Hollywood" (a club) that night... i didnt realise he was actually inviting me to go with him, but i told him i would come back to the bar later that night. On my way back to my hotel... well actually about 1 minute from the bar... there was yet another bar with some aussie guys whole told me to sit down and have a drink. They said i could hit the bars with them that night, so we met back at 7:30.
Its possible to have frzz free straight hair in phuket... just dont leave the hotel!
I took them to say hi to my bar friends from earlier, and for some reason Joel seemed a little down that i was with these other guys...
So the aussies and I went out and bar hopped along bangla road until about 2am when the effects of drinking all day were starting to show, so i took myself home to bed.

The next day it was raining... I decided to make my way down to the market and do some shopping.. However walking around in the rain got a bit annoying, so i decided it was probably for the best to wait out the rain by sitting at the bar with my mates. I spoke to Joel and he said he was upset cos he thought i was going to go out with him the night before... i said sorry and he made me promise that he could look after me tonight. So... what was going to be waiting out the rain at the bar became drinking at the bar until they closed so that joel could take me to the club.
My favourite bar boys :) xo
They cooked a bbq with some different kinds of fish... im not a big fish fan, but the first one was yum, so i tried more... i tell ya, its so hard to look appreciative for something when you're gagging and run out of drink to wash it down with lol. I'm not sure what it was... but thats why i dont eat fish!! SO after some food, jenga, connect 4 and tasting some of the concoctions the boys came up with, it was time to close the bar up and get the party started! It was one of their mates bdays, so first stop was a thai music place... this was away from the beach, not somewhere where tourists would ever head! I think its safe to say I was the only white person in the whole place filled with about 300 thai people... and i think that was quite clear when the only english song came on and i was the only one singing and dancing.
Yes... i made it fall every single time...
.. haha. But such friendly people, and so welcoming!! I didnt pay for a drink all night! Joel then decided it was time to go to Hollywood, so on the bike we hopped again and off to Bangla rd.
Hollywood is MASSIVE. much bigger than i thought it would be from the outside!! And its actually a lot better than i thought it would be... although it was quite crowded! We didnt stay there too long before callin it a night and heading back to the hotel.

The next day it was raining yet again... I did a little bit of shopping, then decided i may as well spend the rest of my time in phuket at my favourite bar! SO i hung out there, Joel took a break and drove me around on his bike to his house... i still laugh when i think about this... It was raining, so Joel gave me an umbrella to hold while we were riding.

Drinking some Singha...thought i should swap my vodka for it in my last 5mins before leaving
.(im not this prissy, i was happy to get wet, but he insisted lol) my first thought was that the umbrella would go inside out with the speed of the bike, but it didnt, so, so far so good! I was nice and dry until we go to near his house which was a dirt road.... and then there was a truck...then you guessed it.. a big puddle!!!! So i didnt get wet from above... I got SOAKED and muddy from below haha.. needless to say I didnt bother with the umbrella after that!! And a few minutes under cover and we were all dry again anyway!

So, back at the bar we were counting down the minutes until i had to leave for the airport... We exchanged numbers, momentos and money... well, i gave him a $5note which i wrote on, and he gave me 20baht which he creatively folded into a love heart... i have a feeling hes done that before haha. He also cut one of his bracletts off his arm and tied it on mine... and told me never to forget him.
It was then time to say goodbye to all the boys, and Joel drove me on his bike back to my hotel where i waited for my transfer.

I've noticed the worst part about travelling... is saying goodbye!!!
