Stone Mountain...(it CAN be done in flip-flops!), and BBQ Dillard Style
My theory on Floridians: they can do anything in flip-flops! Just to prove this point, I walked up Stone Mountain in a $2.00 pair of crappy rubber Wal-Mart flip-flops. What a morning! We woke up later than expected because Ed, (Brian's and my roomy), set the alarm time but didn't turn it ON...it helps sometimes! But anywho, it was fine because we all needed the sleep. Ed and I were a little loopy from lack of sleep the night before and laughed uncontrollably for some time...for no reason. (Maybe it was just me and he was laughing at me) After we drove up to the mountain you could tell how beautiful a day it was going to be...and hot! It was a cloudless sky and the walk up was wonderful. A little tiring, but worth it! Everyone should do it!
After the hike, we all drove about 2 hours North into Dillard Georgia and settled into our Chalet at the Dillard House. It was very comfy! When our hunger pangs could no longer be fought off, we drove to the main house and joined in the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. MMMmmmmmm Yummy!! They do know their BBQ sauce! (and no, BBQ sauce does NOT stain khaki shorts)
