Acapulco Bay

I stayed at the Las Brisas Acapulco.  Beautiful views of the bay, but very expensive to eat, drink etc.  It also was a hassle to get anywhere into the city of Acapulco as Las Brisas was settled high up and away on the steep hills from downtown Acapulco.  The water is green and murky, but Las Brisas had their own private section of beach which was wonderfully set up, and they had 2 man-made lagoons in which you could snorkel and that was fantastic.  Without all the waves pounding around it was a safe-haven for all the sea creatures and they all loved to hang out in those lagoons and were really cool with snorkelers.  Except the puffer fish, they got ticked off if you got too close.  Las Brisas had a 5 star restaurant called the Bella Vista, and yes, it lived up to its name. ..breathtaking views of the bay and sunsets.  They also had a great bar, the Sunset Bar.  Guests of Las Brisas would all converge there to get a drink and watch the sun go down.  Absolutely gorgeous.  I took a cool tour of the less commercialized parts of Acapulco, to include a beautiful lagoon nestled about 30 minutes away from the city.  Saw the beautiful natural tropic environment, animals, birds, and got to become aquainted with some locals.  It was great, I bought my awesome hammock that was hand woven from some nice lady, drank a mixed drink straight out of a coconut picked from a tree, and did a turtle egg shot, then got to relax on a deserted beach where absolutely no tourists were.  Wonderful!  I also watched the famous cliff divers from the balcony of a restaurant...great food, great seats for the show.  It was sweet.  I got sun burn, this trip was so much fun.
