Its weird being the one in the LandRover and having everyone wave you off. After 4 months of being the one standing on the dock and watching people drive away, its surreal that now its my turn. I think I'm ready to go home, but I'm not ready to be home, if that makes sense.
My last night on the ship was filled with fun and fellowship. Both Sarah & I left today, so last night we went out with some of our OR friends for a really nice dinner and then for ice cream. We even treated ourselves to a pedi party back on the ship, complete with foot baths & nail polish. It was a refreshing night.
Today I had a 5 hour flight from Tenerife to Frankfurt, Germany and now I have an 8 hour layover. There were 5 of us flying from Tenerife, we said goodbye to one of our group here and so 4 of us are laying on the cold hard floor in the middle of the airport, trying to get some sleep and failing miserably. We feel like we are display here, everyone who walks past glares at us, but what can ya do? At least its warm in here. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and I'll wont be stuck in Chicago. Fingers crossed!
