Santorini & Caldera Hike

Arriving in Santorini was not as breathtaking as I had hoped, only because we caught back up to the nasty storm we had been trailing most of the cruise. The skies were pretty gloomy so it was muggy and overcast most of the day.
Not sure what I was thinking since I am not a fan of hiking anyways but hiking to the top of a volcano caldera in 100+ degree heat after already being exhausted from almost two weeks of all day excursions, I was pooped half way up and almost got an asthma attack. The rocks were very slippy, making the hike up pretty uncomfortable, and a few people fell down along the way - at least not me! LOL. I decided to sit it out since I had no asthma meds with me and my luck, I'd get up there and have a full blown attack (mind you I haven't been on asthma meds in years) so I hung out with another gentleman while everyone finished the last bit of it.
They said the views were nice but turns out the views from the town of Fira itself exceeded the caldera and most people would've preferred exploring the town more since we had limited time.
What was neat though on our way back to the boat - we sailed around hot springs! The Holland America ship which had docked next to us had an excursion doing the caldera hike and then a dip in the hot springs - much better way to do it I think! We got slighted! :-)
