Sagrada Familia - one and unique
Is there anyone who didn’t hear for amazing Sagrada Familia? No way. Gaudi shown how ingenious he is with Sagrada. We all knows that Sagrada is still under construction, but even that take your breath when you see her. Construction began in 1882. and continues to this days. As I found, reading about Sagrada, the building works are expected to be completed around 2026. (the 100-th anniversary of Gaudi’s death) and after I visited this grandiose church I promised myself I gonna be there in that moment :o) When you stand in front of Sagrada and look upon you can’t be inferior, either you don’t know on which part of building to take a look - everything is so grandiose, some parts looks grotesque, some make tears in your eyes and you forget to take a breath while you look upon around … Gaudi wasn’t genius, he was extraordinary, out of his time.
He worked on the project for over 40 years, devoting the last 15 years of his life entirely to the endeavor - his commitment to this project is indicated by the fact that he lived in the studio on the site - and he finished his life in 1926. in front of his unfinished masterpiece, was hit by the tram while he was leaving work-yard of Sagrada. It’s interesting that people who were on the street in that moment didn’t recognized him and he was taken to the hospital of the poor where he died 3 days later - his mortal remains now rest in the crypt of the Sagrada.
I don’t want to write more about Sagrada, so much is written about and Internet is full of texts of Sagrada and it would be overwriting of them. I would like to enjoy in photos and hope some of them will attend you to visit this beautiful place :o)

Also the Catalan Parliament is seated at a building in the center of the park.
If you attend to visit this place, and I really recommend that, you'll find the park at the end of the Avinguda del Marques de l'Argentera, between the district of Barceloneta and the Passeig de Sant Joan. Be sure you'll enjoy in this beautiful green area walking through the tree shaded avenues, palms, statues, flower garden, lakes with waterfalls ... this is the corner for relaxing in the heart of Barsa.
It was called Ciutadella because Philip V had a military fortress built here about 1715 - he was the Bourbon king won the War of Succesion to the throne of Spain - and after the conquest of the city he dissolved the Catalan parliament, prohibited Catalan language and raised here district the Ribera and build the fortified bastion the Ciutadella.
This place become park after 1888. when the World Fair was held in the gardens in Ciutadella - in that time famous Cascada fountain is build and it's interesting that the design is bases on the Trevi Fountain in Rome, and one more interesting is that the main architect (Josep Fontsere) was assisted by Antoni Gaudi who was still student at the time.We had no luck to see fountain in whole beauty because was under reconstruction, but still the rest of the park was paradise for eyes and soul.
An area historically infamous for its nightlife and cabarets, as well as prostitution and crime, El Raval has changed significantly in recent years and, due its central location, has become a minor attraction of Barcelona. It is currently the home to a very diverse immigrant community from Pakistans and Indonesians, and more recent Eastern European community. El Raval is also becoming one of the hippest up-and-coming neighbourhoods of Barcelona where many artists live and work. It is home to many bars, restaurants, and night spots.
Our hostel was in Calle Hospital in El Raval, so we had a chance to be a part of it and to see also this side of life in Barcelona – interesting experience for sure :o)
Carrer del Bisbe Irurita (street of the bishop) is the heart of the Barri Gotic and kept in original until today and is specific with the bridge which is sort of miniature summing up of Gothic art...the whole area has that beautiful "shadow" of old times and still stand proud keeping those times of oblivion. If you come to Barcelona don't miss to take a walk through, the Barri Gotic deserves your attention.
From airport we take the train to Plaza Catalunya, then the metro, line L3,to Liceu station and get just in the heart of La Rambla, crossed the street and we were in Calle Hospital :o) Just 150 meters down the street is No.93, P.Luis is on the 1-st floor. We were very nice surprised when received sms on our mobile that day with welcoming message that they wait for us :o) And really, Luis is very nice person, welcoming and with advices for everything we needed, so we felt welcome and safe :o) Pension Luis is hostel with nice small rooms (we take with private bathroom), common kitchen with fridge and cooker, so we could prepare meal if we want, Internet is available over 24 hours for free ... and what is important, everything is clean.
So, we could start beautiful 5 days in Barsa and Hostal Luis with his location was perfect - heart of Barsa, most museums and tourist attractions are within a walking distance, and with great Mr.Luis (the owner) and his hospitality everything was just great :o)
It's situated in the center of Barcelona, housed in five adjoining medieval palaces in Barcelona's Barri Gotic, in Carrer de Montcada 15-23,and open from Tuesday to Sundays (including holidays)from 10am to 8pm, with ticket prize of 9 Euro.
The Museu Picasso reveals Picasso's relationship with the city of Barcelona, a relationship that was shaped in his youth and adolescence, and continued until his death.
The collection of museum include more than 3500 works and Picasso himself donated a large number of items. This included his early work, school books, academic pieces, paintings from his Blue Period and more…it’s hard to introduce him just by little review, so this is just my high recommend to visit this place when you come to Barsa and to enjoy in masterpieces of Maestro.
