The beaches in Barcelona extend for 5 km that stretch around the several municipalities of the city.
Sant Sebastian, Barceloneta, Nova Icaria, Bogatell, Mar Bella and Nova Mar Bella. And all of them has been arranged, cleaned and prepared in 1992. for Olimpic games. The Barceloneta is one of the best known and the most popular and one of the biggest beaches in Barsa (1100m long). So, because we had no time to look around to all of the beaches we decided to spend few hours of afternoon on Barceloneta :o) We didn’t swim , just enjoyed in shadow with cold drink … and I played with camera watching through lens so many interesting people around and making photos :o) Barceloneta is long sandy beach with lots of contents for enjoy and relaxing - volleyball courts, gym area, ping-pong tables, skating area, children’s playing area, bicycle rental and (you wouldn’t believe) Beach Library.
We were situated in the center of Barsa (Calle Hospital, just by Rambla) so was easy to reach this beach by bus no.59 …if you are interested how to get to Barceloneta the choice is really good - you have bus lines (14,16,17,36,39,40,45,51,57,59,64), or metro line 4 (Barceloneta and Ciutadella) or tram Ciutadella - Vila Olimpica. And so many people use to take bicycle ‘cause you have rent-bicycle all around Barsa and it’s one of good way (if you are in good condition) to get your place in Barsa.
Choose your favorite beach in Barsa and enjoy :o)
