... just a little bit from all around Palma

Palma de Mallorca Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

When we started our plan in January we had round-trip flight ticket Belgrade-Zurich-Barcelona and Barcelona for start ... at the end our little adventure included Barcelona - Madrid - Palma de Mallorca - Ibiza :o) we just let our wishes to lead us, and that's the best for good travel to enjoy in full :o)

... just a little bit from all around Palma

This photos I made on my little "tour" through the centre of Palma ... the town of Palma is quite big and I was looking for La Sea Cathedral and "my" windmills and on this walk i passed through beautiful parks, along The Bay and streets of Palma and  I "catched" some scenes which attracted my attention in that moment.

La Mimosa , relaxing place on Palma - San Agustin
Hostal La Mimosa is actually situated in San Agustin, little far from center of Palma, but when you get at Palma as we are with ferry, just take bus no 1 to Ponte Pio, and than no 3 to bus stop Calla Nova or one after that (hostal is between this 2 station)and you'll arrive for 15-20 minutes, depend of traffic (don't worry, all buses are with AC and comfortable, prize for bus ticket is 1,10 Eur).
It's important information that check-in is at 2 p.m. (we didn't know and had booked arrival time at 8 a.m. and counted on that, but we had to wait).
Except i was little more nervous because of waiting for room too long (and was tired of all night on ferry from Barcelona to Palma)everything else was quite nice :o)
"La Mimosa" is situated by the sea, old Spanish Manor house and you have some special feeling as you are in old house of your grandma, 'cause old closets, chairs and beds still stand on, everywhere has that spirit of some old good times of Palma, and all around so much flowers and different palm trees. We get a nice room with bathroom and balcony with a view on the sea, room wasn't so big but quite enough, and we could choose between this one or bigger without balcony, but for me balcony had + because i adore my sunny morning to start siting on balcony with cup of cofee and view on "big blue".
For prize of 22 Eur for night (we booked over Internet in January over Hostel World)we had included breakfast too and this was pleasant surprise for us. We didn't expect that, but Mimosa is not classic hostal with kitchen, and this was great for us. Breakfast is perfect, with milk, juice, cofee, cereals, jams, cheese, ham ... and so much else, so everyone were satisfied.
And for just 8,5 Euro you can take dinner and we decided to see first night how is and were again surprised, 'cause woman who work in kitchen is magical and prepares fantastic meals. You can choose among few soups (but we get gazpacho - the best for big heat, refreshing), few main meals (1 is allways vegetarian, you have one with chicken, that another with pork, and all that mixed with vegetables and exotic fruits inside), than salad and desert at the end (ice cream with fruit or mus - is great).
So, don't worry about food, you'll be more that satisfied.
Owners of this hostel are Ingrid and her husband, nice people who knows how to make the others to feel good and relaxing here :o) And the others who work here are also nice , almost young "crew", enthusiastic people for sure 'cause it's not easy among all modern hotels on Palma keep such place, and "La Mimosa" is like little lost paradise of old time.
And, beside all i said, you can use internet free,TV,a swimming pool for those who are lazy to jump to the sea :o) but don't miss to jump to "big blue" :o) .... What else to say ... "La Mimosa" really has that smell and spirit of old times, relaxing place and if you are bored of luxury anemic hotels come here and enjoy :o)
morning view from balcony :o)
