And so on to the Main event, Captain Johanna Wilhelmina of the Feather's sailboat trip, 30 of us plus crew, food, drinks and dog, loaded onto the Lena-Adriana. The outward leg of the journey took place in glorious sunshine but the return was in a storm and some very rough seas. Only one person admitted to being sick, which was impressive considering how many people took turns to suddenly disappear below deck in a very bad state, only to reappear a few minutes later looking much better. Hmmmm.

It turns out the people were much better off up on deck where they could see the horizon... It's amazing what effect the contradiction between the visual and the vestibular senses has on the human body. Fortunately I didn't stop us enjoying the local "jummies" that Wendy brought along.

All said, it was a great trip, which was just as well given that I'd missed the F1 for it!

The plan had originally been to eat dinner on site before heading back, but given that people were mostly drenched, we hit the road immediately. I took the opportunity to have a nice hot bath in a tub that looked white but was tinted to make the water look orange. Very in keeping with the hotel's theme, but if you didn't know, you might have thought the water was just dirty! Dinner was in a Mexican place, including a desert that came with "slagroom". "What could that be?", I thought. Turns out it's the Dutch word for whipped cream. Hmmmm.

Afterwards we wend back to Wendy's Wendy house for some more drinks, and found ourselves struggling to keep awake. This wasn't because we were boring each other to death, it was just the previous night (and its lack of sleep) catching up with us.
