Sunday was relaxing day! We got up, fixed ourselves some breakfast (from the food that we bought at COSTCO) and got ready to chill by the pool. The hotel had two pools and they were basically the same size. This day was really hot. One of us girls was bound to get sun burned, heck, maybe all of us would get burned!Once we got down there, we set our stuff on the lounge chairs and put on sun block. We found 8 lounge chairs together which is really weird. I put enough sun block on my arms, chest, back and face. I put tanning lotion on my legs. I can never have enough color on my legs. I tried to stay out in the sun as long as possible, but I couldn’t last in that heat!! I felt yucky because it was very humid and made me feel sticky and sweaty!! I asked Yvette if she would go in to the pool with me. She said yes. I asked the other girls if any of them wanted to join us. Only Cynthia said that she would join us. I couldn’t wait to get refreshed in the water. We went all the way around instead of jumping in.
At the beach
I took my sisters underwater camera with me. You never know when there is a photo opportunity! We took pictures under water and by the pool waterfall (once those pictures are developed I will post them on here). Very lovely and nice! Cynthia lasted a tad bit in the pool. I believe she wanted to get tanned. I couldn’t be out there at all. Neither could my sister. The next group came into the water which was Gaby and Elizabeth. We hung out by the bar. Not drinking yet, mind you. Just hanging out and talking. Then Syndia came in and the other two went out. It kind of felt like if they were rotating, but they weren’t. They were just cooling off and then getting more sun. I was getting sun while cooling off. The three of us were still hanging out by the bar having a jolly old time when Syndia asked us if we ever had a Coco loco.
She's WONDER WOMAN!
I had never even heard of that. But it sounded good.So we each got one. It is very delicious. What is a coco loco? you may be asking. Well, it is a coconut with a hole on top and they fill it with juice, liquor and lemon/lime juice and of course it contains the coconut milk. After you finish the drink you can ask them to cut the coconut and you eat it with salt, lemon and chili. It is very yummy. That was the life!
The other girls started coming to the bar and then all the craziness began. We all started to drink even more and then some girls started pulling the others top off. Or pulling down their bottoms. It was done as pranks, nothing mean or to embarrass each other.
But Cynthia’s reaction to her bottom being pulled down was classic! She showed no reaction at all. All she would do was stand there and finish what she was doing without a care at all! It was great! And she wouldn’t even put them up! Someone else would put them up for her! This was us for about a couple of hours. We went back up to our room maybe at around or .
We got ready for dinner.
The good thing is that between both rooms we had 3 bathrooms. That was really great, so we were able to get ready at a faster pace. For dinner we went to some Mexican restaurant called Pipis, but in Mexico it’s just a restaurant. They are known for their margaritas and fajitas. I wish I would have known that before I ordered my sour cream enchiladas. They were ok. Not that great. I would never order them again. But man! What I will order again and again and again are their margaritas! They are so delicious! And they are HUGE! I ordered a strawberry margarita! And the best part is, if you think your drink isn’t strong enough, they will bring the tequila bottle or another shot and pour it into your margarita! That was awesome! The waiters even poured some tequila straight into my sisters’ mouth! No joke! The service was awesome! I have no complaints about that. After getting a bit tipsy and finishing up dinner, we headed to El Malecon, again.
That is the hot spot!
Walking down we saw several statues. Some were very weird looking. There was this circle of what seemed to be chairs with strange characters. That actually reminded me of the movie Pans Labyrinth. There was another statue of a ladder with a couple of fake people at the top. Nothing holding it up, made of metal. And one character was pointing out. Elizabeth, Diane, Lizette, Syndia and I think Gaby decided to climb that ladder as well. I tell you! Those girls are crazy! We also sat down to watch this show where men climb to the top of a really tall pole and just swing themselves down while playing their instruments. I got very dizzy just from watching them. After the show we kept on walking and there were some stores, but we mainly were looking at the artist and their displays.
We also saw art on the sand.
Some artist had created a big lizard and the Virgin Mary. I don't know how they do that, but it was very nice. We then walked to the church, which is a very beautiful place! Beside the church door there is this sign that had a lot of misspelled words (just like this blog). We were all tripping out on that. We then caught a taxi cab and went back to the hotel. No, we didn't go out dancing this night, which is fine because it was pretty late after walking the entire Malecon and our feet were hurting. We needed our rest. Oh! And you know how I said one of us was bound to get burned? Well, only Gaby was sunburned. But it was really bad! It was so bad, I was hurting! She was fine after a day and a half.
