Haven van Stavoren
After a sleep, or better a short nap, I was ready to be picked up by Rowena. She would drive me to Stavoren and I will help her unloading all the stuff in her car. Just outside the hotel I met Grace. She was early but now we could talk a little bit. Rowena came on time and after a little discussion about closed hotels etc. we forced Mickey also in the car J and brought him to the other hotel. Then in 40 minutes we received Stavoren. It was a nice sightseeing tour. Guido, Devi and Stijn were also there. We unloaded the stuff and Stijn started to make some coffee. Well done, it tasted very good! J
I met sailer Ineke there and also the captain J. It was amazing but all people were there on time so they start with some instruction on the deck. Yes. . . . we are going to be active on the boat.

My first task was raising the big sail by turning on a wheel. That was heavy L So heavy that help came from Stijn and also Edwin. The 3 of us managed it to get the sail in top. Till 1 o’clock it was really relaxed on the boat. A little breeze, a lot of sun, and sailing to Workum. But after 1 there were clouds coming. When we were on the IJsselmeer again they raised the sail again. Now Sanne and I were in the corner to help with the ropes. That was the first time that we got a wave over us. We couldn’t leave, because Ineke was still yelling:
1 - 2 - PULL, 1 - 2 - PULL, yes but we are wet:
1 - 2 - PULL oké oké, I get the message J After a little help from Brett, who was standing close, we managed to raise the sails.

The rest of the trip is was like, downstairs, get sick, upstairs, enjoying the rain, catch a wave, downstairs, upstairs etc.. I found a place close to the captain that was almost dry. I talked to the sailer Ineke there, and Koosje and her friend Marike and Wendy’s 2 friends. And John was there getting wet….
It was a great experience on the IJsselmeer. In Stavoren again, Wendy and Rowena got there presents for organizing this wonderful meet-up. Everybody started to say goodbye to each other and Wendy and Rowena were the last to leave the ship with all the catering stuff that was left over. Kett and I drove with Rowena back to Leeuwarden where I needed some dry clothes and a hot shower J
