This is a partly fictional and partly factual account of the TB meet-up in the country of Friesland. Friesland is currently occupied by the evil Dutch. I tried to get in contact with the resistance movement using all kinds of different modes of transportation, pramboat, sailboat, train and car. I had no success in getting in contact with the resistance, but I think Wendy is one of the leaders.

Bridge going up in front of us

In front of the hotel we await people for the pick up. Wendy is more or less the only one who got there in time for the 3 pm departure time. We do have a buffer when it comes to time - but it bothers Wendy to have to use this buffer - and she is pretty stressed out - actually if she keeps this kind of stress level for much longer it could possibly have some long term health effects. Well everybody gets on the way to the place we start the pram sailing. I am in the car with Brett and his infallible GPS. Which takes us straight to the place where we need to go - well almost straight to the place - more like 200 meters away from the place on the other side of the river behind a bridge where we can not see the place everybody else is already assembled at.

Brett calls Wendy and tells her we are at the bridge - which just leads Wendy to walk towards a big bridge on the main highway.

We try to cross the small bridge which of course go up right in front of us - I start to understand why Wendy do not like all the bridges going up in front of you all the time in this part of the world.

We finally get across the bridge and can not see Wendy. We walk not really knowing where to go - and then - Wendy appears in the distance we wave but she do not see us. Fortunately we are now close to the pram joint and walk towards it - everybody is there in time for the departure at 4. 17 TBs ready to go sailing the first time this weekend. And of we go into a place I don't really know what is given the guide appears to be the only person in the country not speaking English. But it does not really matter it is a nice trip along some small rivers and through the landscape where we get to see the traditional stuff windmills and so.

Flat landscape up in the north country

You would almost think you are still in the

Netherlands

and not in the country of Frieslands - it looks so similar.

We are onboard a non-alcoholic boat - with an extreme amount of snacks considering we are just a wee bit before dinner time. And to top of the stuff we got on board the boat it stops at a bush to pick berries as well.

Back safely it is time to do the payment for the boat - the first piece of accounting for the night - and it takes a bit of time. But in the end it gets sorted out all right.
