This blog reviews the short trips I do in my country, France. It is not the story of one trip but several stories of different destinations (same colour, same trip :p)

Peninsula of Gâvres

Located on a peninsula, Gâvres is the entrance of the harbour of Lorient.

The tour is around 5km long. I like this kind of tours, when the view changes all along, now desert skyline, now thin sand beach, now rocks or pebbles, now forts and land, now agitated ocean with planchists, now calm sea with a port, etc.

There are several blockhaus on the point of the peninsula, from the WWII, to protect the harbour of Lorient.

Gâvres is accessible by boat from Port-Louis and by a unique road by car. Parking the car was really easy although the weather was good and it is peak season.
