This blog reviews the short trips I do in my country, France. It is not the story of one trip but several stories of different destinations (same colour, same trip :p)

Auray

February 2006

Then we drove to Auray. It is in Morbihan, in the south of Brittany, on the way to Nantes.

We had a very nice break for 2 hours. On the river called Loch', there is a picturesque medieval port, Saint Goustan. The touristic port is really pleasant with cafés and terraces all around. However, there are not a lot of boats as it used to have. We were not during peak season!

My family, a long time ago lived in Auray and my father is passionate about it. I enjoyed sharing this visit with him! We just walked in the narrow streets, very authentic. It was nice and quiet on this Sunday morning, I really appreciated it!

If we had more time, I would have proposed a walk on the other side of the river, along the Loch’. But it was already time to go back to Nantes airport.

What a shame this is the fourth town in a row you don't have enough time to spend in :( I'm glad you did get the chance for a little walk though, and that you brought your camera :)
